A portrait of Martha Garrett practicing yoga.

Martha Garrett, E-RYT 500, has been teaching Yoga since 1995. Her first certification was with Iyengar certified teacher, Lillah Schwartz. Martha’s 500-hour certification came through Triad Yoga Institute under Terry Brown and Suzanne Newton. More recently she has been inspired by Baxter Bell and received certification in Yoga for Healthy Aging in 2016. Martha’s classes are tailored to meet the needs of a variety of physical abilities with focus on proper alignment, use of the breath, and the creation of a light heart. An artist and retired high school art teacher, she understands how to encourage students while creating an arena of challenge and support.

Martha has hosted many retreats in the mountains of North Carolina and Virginia and enjoys creating community around the practice of yoga.
